While the exact cause is not fully understood, CSCR is more common in men, typically between 20 to 50 years old, and has been associated with stress, corticosteroid use, and certain systemic conditions like hypertension.
Diagnosis involves a thorough eye examination, often including optical coherence tomography (OCT) to visualize the fluid and evaluate the retina's structure. In many cases, CSCR resolves spontaneously within a few months without treatment, especially if underlying stressors are addressed. However, persistent or recurrent cases may require laser treatment or medications to reduce fluid leakage and preserve vision.
