Biography:
Dr. Valentin Jünger is an ophthalmology resident and researcher at Tor Vergata University Rome and Cologne University. Following his medical degree from Charité University Berlin, he earned a Doctorate for his comprehensive research on imaging of optic nerve atrophy at NeuroCure Cluster of Excellence at the ECRC Berlin. His current scientific work with Prof. Pocobelli and Dott.essa Colabelli at the eye bank Rome and Prof. Cursiefen at Cologne University focus on eye bank efficiency including novel corneal tissue preservation media, optimizing outcomes of high-risk corneal transplants by (lymph-)angioregressive pretreatments alongside advanced imaging and biomolecular characterization of corneal neovascularization.
