Retinal Migraine

Retinal Migraine

Retinal migraine presents as a rare phenomenon where individuals experience temporary blindness or vision loss in one eye, often accompanied by migraine symptoms like headaches, nausea, and light sensitivity. Unlike typical migraines, which primarily manifest as headaches with possible visual disturbances, retinal migraines specifically impact vision. These episodes, usually lasting less than an hour, can be distressing due to the sudden vision impairment. While the precise cause remains elusive, it's thought to involve spasms in the retina's blood vessels, leading to reduced blood flow and consequent vision loss. Prompt medical attention is vital to rule out serious conditions and explore treatment avenues for managing and preventing future occurrences.
