Eye Prosthetics

Eye Prosthetics

Eye prosthetics, or ocular prostheses, are artificial eyes used to replace an absent natural eye. These devices, custom-made for each patient, restore the appearance of the eye and maintain the structure of the eye socket. Advanced materials and techniques ensure a realistic look and comfort. Prosthetic eyes consist of a thin, curved shell that fits over an ocular implant, which is surgically placed in the eye socket. This implant supports eye movement and ensures the prosthesis aligns properly with the other eye. Regular maintenance and check-ups are crucial to monitor fit and function. Modern advancements, including digital imaging and 3D printing, are enhancing the precision and aesthetic quality of eye prosthetics, significantly improving patients' quality of life.
