Abstract:

Uveitic glaucoma affects uveitis patients due to Inflammation , neovascularization or Corticosteroid-induced glaucoma from treatment of uveitis.1 There were three eyes (three patients) of Uveitic glaucoma were managed by a glaucoma drainage device. At the 12-month follow-up visit, IOP of all cases was controlled with a reduction of ocular hypotensive medications. One of the patients developed corneal opacification for which Optical keratoplasty is advised. In conclusion, glaucoma drainage devices are effective for Uveitic glaucoma, but complications are common.

Dr. Vishal Katiyar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of uveitis as well as extensive experience in cataract surgery. Actively engaged in clinical practice, teaching, and research, Dr. Katiyar is dedicated to advancing patient care and contributing to the academic growth of future ophthalmologists.
